Update on "Twin Ghosts"
The twins seem to have been moved. The last couple of time I have been to the house, I have not heard them playing up in the attic space any longer. And have not seen them peeking out from the eves. So I think either the Mother came back and moved them out or they got brave and went exploring and didn't find there way back.
The house is now hot as well due to no AC because the power is now off at the house.

Afternoon at Apollo Park
I decided to take the Carpet Sharks out and run them a little this afternoon. Just to run down some of that energy they alway store up before bed time. So we went out to Apollo Park since it is closer to the new house and I hadn't been there in a while. It also was a beautiful afternoon with no wind and looked like it might be a good sunset.
The carpet sharks burning some energy.
You can see Tanners horns in this one.
Strike a pose. Tanner thought it was disco pose... Jordyn went for vogue... Not sure what Shad went for.
I love how the flare reflection worked in this one with the combination of the kids silhouetted as well as the water ripples. Worked alot better than I thought it would.
The sunset turned pretty good. The water was calm so reflections worked really well. Had one issue where as usual at Apollo Park, had a bird crap on my camera. But the kids thought that was really funny. Luckily it was only a glancing splat on top of the auto flash housing.
The following photos are some of the better shots that I took. Kind of an experiment in light.

School Canival
The kids had there carnival at school tonight. They really seemed to enjoy this one. I was spread out all over the school campus, so it was a little hard to keep track of them at times but it didn't seem as crowded as other schools they have been at.
Excuse the quality of the photos, they were shot from my cell phone. As always, Tanner loves the masks and getting his hair painted. He wanted to get his face painted, but he got in the wrong line and he didn't realize it until he was just about at the front of it. So he went ahead and got the Braveheart hair.

Jordyn Horseback Riding
I was finally able to get over to see Jordyn horseback riding this afternoon and shoot some pictures. As you can tell from the photos, she doesn't really like it at all. Yeah Right!!
The goat in the bottom left of the photo, is the infamous
"goat that ate my homework."
Apparently at one of the lessons, Jordyn had some homework in her hand. And when she was busy looking the other way, the goat came up and ate her homework. (Damn it really does happen!)
Photos of the week
I am going to try to start something new and get into the mode of making additions to this blog.
So I am starting up an "experimental" or "cool photos" of the week. We'll see how it goes...
The two photos included here were shot during two trips to St Louis. One this year and one last year. The arch was actually a bit of a challenge to shoot because of the size of it. I never expected it to be as big as it is.
This one was shot at about 1am in January of 2008. Snow every where. I like how the lighting worked out.
This was one of the 'creative' shots that I wasn't at all sure if it would work. But the day was very clear and the sun was just right, so it worked. (Mar 2007)
More to come later.

Twin Ghosts
The kids kept swearing up and down that there were ghosts in the house. I never knew what they were talking about, just thought they were being imaginative kids. But once the house was pretty much empty of all but my computer and desk and I was telecommuting one morning, I kept hearing a noise that kind of sounded like rats scratching somewhere. There were loose boxes up by the wall, so I thought it might be in there. Went on a box kicking stomp, but it didn't stop. Then I realized it was above me. And no matter how much noise I made, it never stopped. So my first thought was rats in the attic.
At that point, I considered going up in the attic with a baseball bat and resolve this problem. But then had some visions of a bad Steven King horror story. Or Monty Pythonish ("Big Sharp Pointy Teeth") so decided against that, left that day still thinking they were rats.
A few days later while moving some stuff out front of the house, I spotted a hole that I had never noticed before. I was staring intently at it trying to get my eyes to focus enough to determine if it was a hole or just a shadow, when I realized that something in there looked like a face. As I tilted my head, so did it. Didn't have my camera at that point.
Went back a few more times with my camera, but to no avail.
But today I saw them and was actually able to get a few shots. One of them was even getting curious enough I thought it was going to come down and see me for a little while. They are two small raccoons, about the size of a small cat. Haven't seen the mother at all. Figured she would have come out behind them, but I never saw her.
So I guess the kids really were hearing Ghosts. The house was haunted after all.
