Ted was at the center last week and showed his collection of photos and shared a few stories. Was very inspirational to hear.

I really need to start getting out there again and getting more shots and start posting them again.

Thanks again Ted for taking time out to present yours photos and stories. It was an inspiration.

Dryden Dust Storm -- 4 Sep 2013

Once or twice a year we get a nifty little dust storm that comes up from the lake bed. Here is the video from one of those times.

Shooting the Full Moon Aug 20th 2013

Out shooting the full moon on Aug 20th 2013. This was just a spur of the moment trip out to the West side of town to shoot some shots of the full moon. I really need to get back into this more.

Gilroy Garlic Festival weekend July 2013

Tri-Tip crusted with
chopped Garlic. AWESOME!!

We headed for Gilroy Ca Thursday afternoon so we could go to the Gilroy Garlic festival on Friday this year for all the great food and to see some of the cooking competitions.

The food was awesome as always as was the company.

The shrimp scampi
and mushroom plate.
After the garlic festival this year we decided to take a different route home since we normally go back down the US 101 or the 1 along the coast. We decide to head more inland and go through Lake Tahoe on the way back and come back down US 395.

Lake Tahoe ended up being completely booked for rooms and packed with people so we continued on down the mountain into Carson City NV. Turned out to be a really good choice after all.

In Carson City we found a little brew house called "High Sierra" great honey beer and food.

We even made up some of the difference in the cost of the trip with some gambling at the Nugget Casino that night.

Eggs Benedict with
Pork Belly
 and local Duck Eggs.
Sunday morning we went to a great little place for breakfast, Adele's in Carson City NV. This place is a must visit if you are ever up in the area.

This was a great trip, covered quite a few miles. Fires on the way from Carson City through to Bishop. Lots of smoke in the air.

Stopped to visit with my cousin Carrie and Virgil for a few hours and turned out to be a really good thing we did because the 395 had been closed on and off most of the afternoon due to flash flooding.
